• International Design & Architecture Awards 2019: Design Scheme Europe

We are simply overwhelmed to have won the @design.et.al award for Interior Design Scheme Europe with our Danish Summerhouse Project. It was a formative opportunity to work with world-renowned architect Knud Holscher in an unrivalled setting. Add to this the best clients in the world and this was the project of a lifetime. To have it recognised by some of the best architects and designers in the world was the icing on a fairly terrific cake.

  • Kingston Mansion commended by The Sunday Times British Homes Awards

Kingston Mansion is a newly-built contemporary Arts and Crafts home on the outskirts of London.  With apparently conflicting client requirements of a boutique interior combined with a fun family home, our challenge was to reconcile these elements in a design with overarching coherence.

Our consistent use of materials in the interior architecture and joinery, along with the use of an Arts and Crafts inspired motif throughout all levels of the interiors, greatly aided the overall stylistic unification of the house.  This considered approach provided the clients with a highly unique, bespoke and boutique family home, with which they are thrilled.

We are, in turn, delighted by the fact that the project was commended by The Sunday Times British Homes Awards.  It is an honour to have our work judged by such a distinguished panel and to be one of the finalists alongside such impressive design contemporaries.

  • Knightsbridge Townhouse bathroom design shortlisted for 2012 Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards

This Knightsbridge town house had originally been designed by a property developer intent on selling. Our brief was to add glamour, elegance and sophistication to the house, especially in the master suite and the reception and dining rooms. Key to Staffan Tollgard Design Group’s philosophy is the Scandinavian notion of the ‘red thread’.

The thread is the guiding principle of creative endeavour and what ultimately gives each design we work on a sense of coherence and continuity. Be it a work of art, a motif in a fabric or a commitment to a period of design, each of our projects has an unique red thread that tells the client’s story using the language of design. The clients’ love of Art Deco encouraged us to take inspiration from original pieces and design principles for the ‘red thread’ linking the design of this extensive refurbishment.

We are very pleased that the bathroom design is in the final three for the 2012 Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards.

  • House and Garden’s 100 leading designers

We hope that House & Garden won’t mind if we reproduce their introduction to their Leading 100 Interior Designers directory in this post.  We are just very proud to be a part of it again.

If House & Garden is to be the standard bearer of the best in interior design it follows that we must champion the men and women in the profession.  That is why we publish this directory every three years – a list that is compiled after exhaustive research.  Some of these designers will help you spend a fortune and some will help you save money.  However, they all have one thing in common: they have earned their place here by doing what they do excellently.
