From their atelier in Milan, Italy, artistic director Massimo Castagna brings together renowned creative talents from around the world, including Ugo Cacciatori and Yabu Pushelberg. The natural materials they use to create these organic sculptures are as globally diverse as the schemes they finally inhabit. There is a heartfelt commitment to working with the best that nature has to offer, and then, together with a handful of artisans, giving it wings.

This combination of creative ingenuity and material excellence along with a refusal to give in to the temporary and trend-led design attitudes of the day may be the reason the Henge world feels decidedly different.

For Tollgard founders, Staffan & Monique Tollgård, the brand’s Milanese showroom was a highlight. Both were blown away by the sculptural, edgy monoliths that form their kitchen islands. They featured blocks of the most beautiful stone in burnished metal tones, rosy pastel swirls and icy onyx. Over the last two years, their flagship showroom has been painstakingly carved out of one of the most interesting – and central – locations in the heart of Milan’s fashion district. The attention to detail in the architecture is testimony to the passion that imbues every piece of their furniture, accessories and lighting.
