As Sebastian Herkner says: ‘Design needs a human touch’. In his design ‘Gentle’—an armchair and a dining chair—, this touch is truly tangible, because of the manufacturing process.

Claude Dining Chair
At some point during the 19th century, the ‘crapaud’ saw the light of day—a compact armchair, with a rounded back seamlessly gliding into lower armrests, providing a comfortable hug.
Guillaume Lopez was inspired by its elegant silhouette, in a contemporary, sculptural interpretation: ‘Claude’, named after his grandfather. As an armchair—with a closed, oak-veneered base—‘Claude’ is the perfect addition to your seating area. Thanks to its open base front, the slightly higher version is the perfect dining or desk chair.

DESIGNED BY
Guillaume Lopez
Guillaume Lopez (1989) began his design journey under the mentorship of François Bauchet and Éric Jourdan at the Saint-Étienne School of Art and Design. His early years were shaped by his collaboration with the leading brand of Christophe Delcourt, where he developed a passion for elegant finishes and refined color palettes. This foundation led him to Toronto, to the renowned multidisciplinary design studio Yabu Pushelberg, where George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg offered him the opportunity to contribute to exclusive projects worldwide.
