There are two versions of Dorotea designed by Roberto Lazzeroni: the toilette and the desk, both made of solid American walnut and veneered plywood.
It is a piece of furniture "characterized by a snappy sign, by feminine and sinuous shapes … in the dressing table version a drop-leaf cut out on the top opens to reveal a mirror and a container in white maple. A small bench becomes a comfortable seat." These are the words of the designer who defines his own design research as "sentimental", because it is guided by the rediscovery of "forgotten" furnishing elements such as the mobile bar, the gueridon, the buffet, the coiffeuse, and the dressing table.
Just like Dorotea which, with its dynamic and feminine design, is inspired by the Elegy console [https://www.ceccotticollezioni.it/en/products/elegy/]. The turned legs, which are very thin with the foot slightly inclined at the front, are wider in the upper portion to accommodate the 6.5 cm oval top. It consists of a 2 cm frame that runs along the entire silhouette.
A drop-leaf with mirror is carved into its surface, which reveals storage divided into compartments of multiple dimensions, and embellished with a leather bottom.

Roberto Lazzeroni, born in Pisa, began his professional life with the study of art and architecture in Florence and the interests he developed during his training, in particular in the conceptual art and radical design movements. In the early 1980s, Lazzeroni made his professional debut with a series of important works in the field of “interior architecture” that immediately attracted attention and were published in Italian and foreign periodicals.
