Celato is a reference to what is concealed to keep a memory intact; it’s an archetype in which beauty is revealed in stages. A monolithic appearance makes Celato a contemporary menhir; like a legend that tells of magnificent treasures safeguarded below sacred stones, Celato reveals its dual soul, with many internal, hidden, almost secret spaces.

Existence Bookcase - SALE
“Why should bookcases always be straight, long, vertical, right-angle planes to keep nothing but books perfectly straight and composed? And don’t we like to keep a few small objects, keepsakes, some useless artefacts from fundamental phases of our existence, among the books?”
Available in free-standing and wall-mounted versions, Existence arose as an overlapping of small, varied boxes, like the experiences and keys to one’s life: a totem-bookshelf designed to contain books and objects in a single space, built around similar modules that repeat, though the same form never appears twice.

BRAND HIGHLIGHT
Contemporary design is fundamental to De Castelli, and the company has created its own collections of furniture and products in collaboration with some of the world’s leading designers. Bookcases, storage units, tables, chairs and lighting are shaped in hammered brass, mottled copper, weathered steel and délabré brass. Working closely with architects and designers on bespoke commissions, as well as offering finishes and furniture for domestic use to consumers, De Castelli’s stated aim is to “bend metal to the requirements of different spaces and uses, to shape it to the tastes and desires of a sophisticated and demanding clientele”.
