In 1988, Nanna Ditzel returned to Denmark after 18 years in London. Nanna settled in an old townhouse in inner Copenhagen, specifically at Klareboderne 4. Nanna's bedroom, which was on the top floor of the house, had high panels between the windows facing the street. As so often before, Nanna sat down and drew what was missing, in this case a mirrored piece of furniture for the space between two of the windows.

Throughout her 60-year career, Nanna Ditzel established herself as one of the most distinctive figures in Danish design. She rethought the functionalist design tradition with her imaginative expressions and left her mark on thousands of private homes and public forums.
