MK-16 Foldable chair
The church chair that went down in history as a timeless design. The folding chair was created in 1932 during a competition as supplementary chairs for churches. The folding chair was later shown at the Danish Cabinetmakers' Association's Furniture Exhibition in 1938. In a 70-year interview, Mogens Koch tells Malin Lindgren: "And the folding chair is from 1932 and was originally intended as a bridal chair instead of the large Renaissance and Baroque imitations that were found in many churches."

DESIGNED BY
Mogens Koch
Born in Copenhagen in 1898, the Danish furniture designer Mogens Koch attended the Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi. From 1925 Mogens Koch worked in the practice of the architect Carl Petersen, where he met Kaare Klint, who was ten years older than Koch. Mogens Koch was strongly influenced by Kaare Klint's idea of design as an evolutionary development. As a result, the furniture Mogens Koch designed can be viewed on the whole as modern reworkings of traditional furniture types.
