In 1968, Nanna Ditzel married the English furniture dealer Kurt Heide. They settled in London, where together they created the international showroom Interspace. During these years, Nanna designed a series of upholstered furniture, including the Mondial series. The Mondial series was developed in collaboration with the English car seat company LPC Upholstery, while Scandus in London was responsible for the production of the series.

Mondial is intended as an elegant modern design with an appeal to timelessness. The basic element is a simple curved shape that gives the furniture its organic expression. The expression that is so typical of Nanna Ditzel's design, and which once again means that the furniture can be viewed from all sides. When Nanna Ditzel and GETAMA decided to relaunch the Mondial series in 2000, the furniture was further developed so that it became smaller in size and thus better suited the Danish home of the time.

Getama is a Danish manufacturer of classic and contemporary furniture. Hans Wegner began working with Getama over 60 years ago and their collaboration provided for many classics that continue to be produced. The designs of Hans Wegner are highly appreciated for design, quality and durability and have become collector's items and best-sellers. In the 1990s Getama launched products by internationally renowned architect, Nanna Ditzel.

This unconventional approach to the design process, together with an extensive knowledge of the craft, spawned a range of innovative designs from jewellery to textiles and furniture. Throughout her 60-year career, Nanna Ditzel established herself as one of the most distinctive figures in Danish design. She rethought the functionalist design tradition with her imaginative expressions and left her mark on thousands of private homes and public forums.
