Øya Dining Table
Øya is a extendable dining table that was only made for one client, a true “one of a kind” product. Sigurd Resell graduated from National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in 1947. He designed Øya while being employed at Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor in Oslo.
What characterize Resell’s design are the defined logical constructions where form is decided by function. The elegant elliptical shape of the tabletop is both classical and modern, with legs that strengthens this feeling with an oval to round shape. We are proud to have this unique and beautiful table as part of the Eikund collection.

BRAND HIGHLIGHT
The result of a shared love and a mission; Eikund is a furniture maker bringing forgotten classics of Norwegian mid-century design into the spotlight. Its three founders, Morten Hippe, Frode Tingbø and Jørgen Tengesdal have in common a long-held appreciation of Norwegian furniture design. Believing it to have been traditionally overlooked in favour of the better-known Danish mid-century icons, they set out together to correct this, and in 2015, Eikund was born.

DESIGNED BY
Sigurd Resell
Sigurd Resell was one of the country’s most formidable furniture designers in the 1950s and 60s. What characterizes his furniture more than anything is an elegant and logical construction. While mostly designing furniture in a moderately traditional style, he later also developed a number of models in a more modern, international design language. He received nine different awards at various competitions and exhibitions at home and abroad.
