The pp35 Tray Table offers the most refined balance between functionalism and purity. Made of all solid wood shaped and joined using the most simple geometry, it provides a very basic flexible and practical application. The static, foldable frame holds the solid wood tray with a particular sense of elegance and reliability. The simple tray made of solid wood is unattached, and the table frame can easily be folded and put away. An additional tray can even be placed as a shelf resting on the lower rails.
The pragmatic design of the Tray Table is based on the modern geometrical lines of the pp66 Chinese Chair and represents Wegner’s early work on defining strong and elegant constructions of wood with focus on the bare essentials of good craftsmanship. The pure and logical design concept is executed so that it is almost generic, and the Tray Table stands as a universal product that will be usable for many occasions and easily stowed away when not in use.
