A table with a organic, solid and light wood structure, designed as the detail of an aircraft's wing.
A clever usage of the construction technique is visible in the easel structure and in the game of joints, supporting a wide range of glass tops. There are many variations of this idea of table and one of them was designed for the Società Reale Mutua Assicurazioni.
BRAND HIGHLIGHT
When Aurelio Zanotta opened the doors to his eponymous label in 1954, its initial focus was on the production of sofas and armchairs which, at the time, were overwhelmingly the domain of upholstery workshops. But Zanotta’s vision far exceeded the largely utilitarian scope of local upholsterers. Beyond its surface functionality, he recognizedin furniture design a new form of cultural expression—a venerable creative outlet worthy of the same respect afforded to traditional artistic exploits like painting and sculpture.

Born in Turin in 1905, he received his degree in architecture in 1931 and his career was highly diversified, covering architecture, design, interior decorating and town-planning. Among these, he designed a wide variety of furniture of all types: he even invented new kinds of furniture. But he also created planes and cars.
