Stefan Antoni and Greg Truen of SAOTA were inspired by the geography of Cape Town where boulders are found on the coastal cliffs. The geology is dramatic with the rare and famous Cape Floral Kingdom flora interspersed with pronounced rock formations.
The Afrikaans (South African language) word for rock or stone is “steen” and this is the inspiration for the low, stone like shaped Steen planters.
BRAND HIGHLIGHT
Each one of Indigenus’ creations is meticulously crafted – smooth, clean lines are drawn from raw, honest materials of hardwood, cork and concrete. A recognisable aesthetic runs through each collection created by Indigenus. Designs are strikingly pared-back and restrained, with bold, simple silhouettes contrasting against tactility and earthiness. Underpinned by a deep knowledge of both landscape design and plant care and maintenance, Indigenus’ planters are not only aesthetically uplifting, they are also crafted to be lightweight and easily transportable, with removable linings and water reservoirs to ensure they function beautifully too.
