Modules with unusual shapes give life to original seating configurations where aggregation and variability take center stage. Additional System is a project by Joe Colombo from 1967, reimagined today by Tacchini while respecting its original spirit: a modular system with timeless allure, still “futuristic” even 50 years later.

Additional System Armchair
Modules with unusual shapes give life to original seating configurations where aggregation and variability take center stage. Additional System is a project by Joe Colombo from 1967, reimagined today by Tacchini while respecting its original spirit: a modular system with timeless allure, still “futuristic” even 50 years later.
Cushions of six different sizes, inspired by ergonomic studies of the 1960s, come together in dynamic and flexible combinations created by varying the number of elements and how they are positioned. Additional System is available in armchair, pouf, and daybed versions.

BRAND HIGHLIGHT
In 1967, the Tacchini family began their journey of design. Nestled between Como and Milan, they called Brianza home. Within this verdant landscape, Italy’s culture of impeccable craft and artistry was palpable, and it enriched each of their designs with a fragrant essence of living. Rooted in the magic of an idea, this family of Italian furniture-makers continues to excite architects, designers and creatives across the globe with its unique perspective.

DESIGNED BY
Joe Colombo
Joe Colombo attends the Politecnico and the Brera Art Accademy in Milan. After an important experience in the informal art, in 1963 he devotes himself to the design of industrial products, many of which, when differently assembled, are proper object systems composed of a set of fittings for different domestic environments. In his design, he originally employs traditional materials, to culminate with the experimentation of new materials and the latest technologies.
