Infinity
The design concept for the Infinity bookcase lies in subtraction – the concept of paring down the container in order to allow the contents to shine. Infinity is a modular system made of epoxy-powder-coated metal containers that come in an extensive array of colors, freely stackable and joined to each other by an invisible satin-finish steel connector screw. The Infinity system modules make it possible to create an almost infinite number of compositions, giving rise to an elegant interplay of negative and positive spaces.
The Infinity bookcase can be paired with the practical yet refined cowhide Box containers with side slit handles for easy removal from the bookcase. The sophisticated textural contrast between the understated sheet metal and the warmth of the cowhide is the source of success for a product that can now be justifiably considered iconic.

DESIGNED BY
Antonio Citterio
Antonio Citterio was born in Milan in 1950 and completed his studies in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic. In 1981 he started his practice in architecture and interior design, together with his Californian wife, Terry Dwan. Since 1999 Antonio Citterio has been teaching at the Academy of Architecture of the Università della Svizzera Italiana, Mendrisio, Switzerland. A number of Citterio’s pieces for Kartell are in the permanent collections of MOMA in New York and the Pompidou Centre, Paris. Antonio Citterio is probably most well-known for his furniture designs for Flexform, including the Groundpiece modular sofa system and the ABC armchair. Aram Store also stocks some of his work for Kartell.
